OOTD: Brown and Black: Taboo Colors

I had a coworker ask me the other day if brown and black can go together.  I was shocked by the question, but realized that those colors together sometimes can be Taboo.  So I decided to wear the colors together to show her that it can be done.

Top: Old Navy, Bottoms: Dillards, Shoes: Luxe Just Fab Jewerly: Veronas 

So what do ya'll think about Taboo colors like brown/black and red/blue?  I would love to hear your comments on this topic.
